A Multifaceted Approach to Collocations in English, Romanian and Italian

     Founded on the conscentious research of relevant studies on the topic, A Multifaceted Approach to Collocations in English, Romanian and Italian is a scientifically valid book which provides, on the one hand, a thorough review of collocations in those languages and the different approaches to their study, with particular reference to the perspectives of lexical semantics and stylistics, and on the other, an interlinguistic approach to translating English collocations into Romanian and Italian, as applied to different text types.

     The comparative-contrastive perspective on the terminology used in English, Romanian and Italian studies on lexical patterns and the Appendices at the end of the book represent a truly original contribution made by the author, with the Appendices proving to be a particularly useful tool for understanding the various means of organizing collocations according to different criteria, and also for translating both general and specialized English collocations into Romanian and Italian.
